Yarn

The e-mail from Knitomatic last week, mentioning their huge sale they're having today and tomorrow, did not come at the most appropriate time. I have been on a yarn diet since returning from the UK.

I made my way across town this morning, taking two streetcars and a bus. I arrived at Knitomatic just after their 11 am opening. There was a line up already. With it being such a small store, the only thing to do, was limit the number of shoppers inside at one time. I waited in line for about 20 minutes, which was totally fine as I had some knitting with me and the rainy weather that was forecasted for the morning had already made it's way through the city.

Let's just say I started off at a good pace, until I spotted balls of yarn for a dollar each. Below is a sample of the yarn I acquired. I am not going to show you all of it, as now that it's been added to the stash it doesn't really matter how much I put on credit. I am however very happy to tell you that the cost of this yarn at regular price and before taxes would have totaled $287.80 Lucky for me however everything was on sale and I spent a lot lot lot less than that today.

From Knitomatic I walked north to St. Claire Avenue and west to Alter Knits. It opened in late summer/early fall last year and I had yet to get there. The shop is huge, as it's a knitting shop and cafe, with lots of tables to sit down at, with your knitting. As they have the same stock that is available to me at closer yarn shops in and around town, I don't feel as though I am missing out, although the size of their store is a great bonus. It's definately worth a trip.

Pretty. I resisted the Noro. I wanted about 11 skeins of it. I got a few things, mostly things I'm saving for various gifts. Maybe we were in line together. I was working on a pink/purple sock.

I was forced tokeep my knit from my stash resolution because I couldn't get away from work either yesterday or today!

Maybe that will make up for the 2 pairs of shoes that I bought last Saturday at Tall Girl...
