Rainbow Trust Charity Trek

Charlotte, my sister-in-friend, (with whom I coined the term last year, since C is Frost's younger sister, and we aren't technically related yet) is going on a Trek to Peru in a little more than two weeks time. Charlotte is doing this trek in memory of her best friend Georgie, who passed away last year.

Charlotte's initial target of 5000.00 pounds, was reached in July after only 7 months of fundraising. Since then she has increased her target goal to 8000.00 pounds.

Many in the knitting community across the pond, as Charlotte lives in the UK, have been helping in the fundraising efforts, and recently the owner of HipKnits has donated some yarn that is currently up for auction on ebay.

The three lots up for auction on ebay include:

8x100g skeins of 100% silk yarn

2x100g skeins of 4-ply (sock) weight 100% cashmere yarn

1x100g skeins of lace weight 100% cashmere yarn

At the Crafty Thread and Yarn Forum. there are five auctions going on which includes a Knit Picks Option set, booty for the avid sock knitter. and booty for the avid lace knitter.

If you would like to help Send the Princess of Purple to Peru, please check out Charlotte's site for more details. Every dollar helps and you might even score yourself some beautiful handpainted yarn in the colour of your choosing.
