The story of the scarf

While it was lots of fun working on my first crochet scarf project, I neglected to do one important thing while working on it. That is to check to see how long the scarf was. Turns out that the scarf grew instead of shrunk as I crocheted it. I followed the pattern which said "chain a honking amount of stitches which start at one knee travel around the neck and end up at the other knee." Which I did. When I finally put my finished scarf around my neck, this is what happened:

It's a bit hard to see at the bottom of the shot, but that is the scarf pooling on the floor. It's just a tad bit longer than I was expecting. Of course when I showed it to Frost he said, "it's your Doctor Who scarf"

I am actually more than happy at the final prognosis of my scarf. One or two more wraps around my neck keeps it that much warmer. As you can see from the photo below in which Tuesday is totally trying to steal my spotlight!

I just hope this doesn't happen when I start to work on my dress. :-)

Oh and by the way, that shoulder length hair you see in the photos. GONE!

I went to the hair dressers last night and go myself a new do. I hadn't been in a hair salon in over three years. Instead I was going the "i can cut my own hair-it's naturally curly, who's gonna notice" route.

I will post a new photo to the sidebar in the new day or two.
