Christmas Knitting

I promised myself this year I wouldn't put myself through the stress of knitting christmas gifts. I had plans to knit gifts for just two people this year. A couple of scarves, one for my landlady and one for a very dear friend of Frost's. Well that entire senario went out the window last week, when plans for the holidays changed. My easy plan of only two scarves doubled to four, along with two pairs of mittens. I know it doesn't seem like much but have you checked the date? only 24 days til christmas. So far I have one scarf completed. and two on the needles. I'm hoping to get the fourth scarf made but should I run out of time I have a backup-a scarf I finished a while back but never blogged or ravelry-ed about. All I need now is to purchase yarn for the mittens and all will be well in my world.

So here is the first finished scarf:

Yarn: Manos del Urguay
Colour: 04
Needles: 5.5mm
Pattern: One Row Scarf by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

Almost forgot to mention. I went to the purple purl yesterday (I know I have yet to post about this great shop, I will soon once I have actually taken photos of the place) and worked on my crochet swatch for a little something something I might be wearing to a party twice next year in August and then again in September. No photos, since Frost knows about this blog and has a peek every now and then at it, but it's fair enough to say that after a bit of pattern help from the wonderful Jennifer (co-owner of the purple purl) I think I just might be able to pull this baby off!

Now to get back to my scarf projects....

Perhaps we should start in January for Christmas '08!
