Startitis

It's the start of a new year and with all my holiday knitting finished it's time to start stash diving and making some things for me. Although there are a few works in progress on the needles, we'll save those for another post on another day.

A favourite pattern that I've been eyeing since I found it on ravelry last summer is All the Shades of Truth.

I plan on using four skeins of June Fibre Arts Alice Sock Yarn which I scored from a Newmarket yarn shop going out of business a couple years ago. I don't remember the name of the store, just that the yarn was ordered online and it's all lovely stuff. The colourways are Flight (blue), Royal (purple), Fresh Greens and Golden Peach.

I have two more skeins of Alice Sock yarn that were purchased at Loop in Islington back in December 2010 but they don't go well with these colours so I decided to use the skein of Swan Island Natural Colours Fingering Merino for the fifth colourway.

I'm so excited to cast on for this project.

I'm so drawn to neutral/natural color tones. I could just eat that hefty looking skein of thin brown yarn. Mmmm :)

I know eh? I think it's going to be a great compliment to the other colours.
