Loop

Finally managed to make it to Loop, in London, this past Saturday. So far, it's been the one of the best yarn store I've been too in the UK. Other than The Knit Tin and the Knitting Hut, Loop, although small in size with patrons inching there away along the wall of wool, had the most variety of yarn to date.

I got two skeins of Colinette Jitterbug merino yarn, and some Noro Daria Multi among others which I can't remember at the moment. I am back in Dorset and my growing stash of english wool is at the other house in Hertsfordshire.

Did I mention that my second parcel from my secret pal arrived? Well it did indeed and there were lots of great goodies inside. Rowan cotton and kidsilk yarn. A pair each of 4.5mm and 5.0mm bamboo knitting needles, (which i didn't have in that size before), a great knitting book that has Rowan yarn patterns inside, called "i love knitting". And the best of all was a mason dixon washcloth with handmade soap made by my wonderful sp9. Photos to come soon I promise. I fly back to Canada next Monday and will have photos up as soon as the jet lag has worn off.

I found some old metallic colored metal knitting needles in a huge variety store of all places today. They are stamped ~Made in England~ and are size 3.0mm, 3.25mm and 3.5mm. The best part is the price. £0.50 a pair. Can you say bargain?

Oh, and, Frost is becoming well versed in the softness of yarn. Last week at the knitting hut i gently rubbed some wool along his cheek for him to see how soft it was. "Feels like half alpaca and half merino to me" was his reply. By George he was right!

Yay for Loop! I went there in May and spent a wad....on Colinette, which is exorbitant here.

I'm having a great time following your yarny adventures in Europe! We're going back next year to visit my parents. It's so good to have all the yarn and yarn store reviews, just in case I feel like, you know, buying some yarn.

The best thing about buying yarn on vacation is that it squeezes down nicely, yet doesn't add alot of weight to the bulging suitcase!!

I'll be arriving TO next Sunday; hopefully we can catch up before I leave on Saturday!
